POLICIES AND FAQ
What is the process for applying for a puppy?
The first step is submitting a puppy application!! You will be able to set up a time for a phone call to go over questions about the puppies and our breeding practices. If you'd like to go onto our waiting list you will need to submit a retainer for a spot in line. Once pups are born we reach out to families on our list!
.
.
What is the waiting list exactly?
The waiting list is a master list for families who have committed to buying one of our puppies.
If you are on the waiting list you have priority on our litters and puppies.
There is a $100 non-refundable registration fee required to be on our waiting list.
You can stay on our waiting list up to 12 months

How do I get to select a specific puppy?
After you submit an application, have an intake interview, and receive the green light to place a waiting list retainer
Waiting List Selections
A $100 non-refundable registration fee will place you on the Waiting List, or Master List. You will be placed in order the payment was received. Somewhere between birth and selection time frame we will reach out to deposit holders to see if they'd like to match with a puppy / have spot on the list. We will open up puppy selections to those on the litter list between 3-6 weeks (holidays may be earlier). Selections are made in order of retainers. If you are matched with your perfect puppy you will need to place a $500 payment towards the balance of the puppy and complete the selection form. Final balance is due at pick up.
The benefit of being on a waiting list is that you have priority over those who are not on the waitlist.
There is no pressure to select a puppy and you can transfer back to the waiting list prior to final puppy selections.
Not every litter or puppy we showcase has a waiting list process. Some will be marked as AVAILABLE with no holds.
Immediate Deposit
If a puppy says " AVAILABLE" it means they are eligible for an immediate deposit. You place a non-refundable $500 deposit on THAT specific puppy. If you choose to place a deposit on an AVAILABLE puppy we do not permit transferring to another puppy or litter. You will often see AVAILABLE listed under puppies who are over 3 weeks old.

**Transfer Policy**
We have no problem with transfers prior to final puppy selections.
If you arn't able to be matched with the perfect puppy you can request to go back to the master list.
When you return to the master list you are placed behind other deposit holders.
Transfers are not permitted after you have made your final puppy selection.
A waiting list retainer is good for a calendar year. Once you have exceeded your 12 month time frame you will need to submit another retainer to extend your spot.

How often do you update photos?
PHOTO UPDATES:
Photos are a BIG part of the buying processes for deposit holders. Every photo that is posted helps you feel more connected with your new puppy. We take new photos every 2 weeks and post them to the Instagram, FB group, and website, ect.
.
Please remember that a breeder's main focus is puppy raising, safety, and wellness of her dogs. There is a lot of behind the scenes activity that can delay photos on our end. We LOVE getting photos for everyone but the priority is the puppy raising and our personal families.

How do I know how the puppy is doing?
Our health and developmental evaluation are done at birth, 2, 4, 6 and 8 weeks of age. These are evaluations WE do with our puppies and are separate from vet visits. We will often provide a written evaluation around 6 weeks to help families see how the pups are doing.

Can my family and I come visit?
All of our puppies are raised in private family homes with our children and family. Currently we do NOT allow any visits with our puppies. This decision allows us to prioritize the BIOSECURITY of our animals by minimizing the possibility of dog disease, germs, and accidents. COVID has also set us back and we can't risk the health of our humans.
.
When we previously did visitations some people took advantage of this kindness and treated the visits like going to a pet store.
.
We do invite you to join us at a doggy meet up to see the breed, talk to puppy owners, and meet the breeders!

What should I know about puppy pick up?
Puppy Pick Up for our families occurs at 8 weeks pending state mandated requirements. Puppies must pass a health certificate visit prior to sale (see Vet/Health/Medical section below). We schedule puppy pick up in advance and prospective families will have a general time frame for puppy pick up prior to placing their deposit/selecting their puppy. It is important that you prioritize the puppy pick up date as we have very little flexibility in holding puppies past 8 weeks or changing the pick up date.
.
PICK UP LOCATION
Our public pick up location is sent to deposit holders in an email. All families must reply to our welcome email with their requested time slot for pick up
.
ORLANDO or CITRA
Some of our litters have pick up in Orlando area and some in the Citra area. You will know prior to placing a deposit which litters/puppies are at what pick up area. We can not transport puppies between these areas... we simply have set locations in both areas depending on which breeder has which litter.
.
OUT OF STATE
We often have out of state and international buyers. We can meet at Orlando or Sanford Airport for a fee. Make sure you know where your puppy pick up is as we can't typically do not fly Citra puppies out of the airports
Cargo shipping is limited to Orlando airport and we must follow the regulation for animal shipping.

What type of health measures do you put in place for the pups?
The health of our puppies is priority in the prenatal, whelping, and puppy raising period.
Puppies must pass a STATE MANDATED vet visit with a Florida Licensed and USDA certified vet before pick up.
We follow professional recommendations for preventative health care in the first 8 weeks with us.
The protocol may slightly vary between the 3 breeders
Here is our vetting protocol for the first 8 weeks:

We follow professional recommendations for preventative health care in the first 8 weeks with us.
The protocol may slightly vary between the 3 breeders
Here is our vetting protocol for the first 8 weeks:
- We do our initial deworming with PYRANTEL at 2 weeks old and again at 4 weeks.
- We deworm puppies with FENDABENDAZOLE every 2 weeks starting around 4 weeks of age. This also is preventative medication for giardia
- We preventatively treat for coccidia with Albon, Toltrazuril or Marquis at the following intervals:
- 2, 4, 6, and 7-8 weeks.
- We administer a prescription grade heartworm/flea/parasite combo tablet called SENTINEL (or similar) at week 7-8. Sentinel lasts for 30 days (this is only offered from our orlando area breeder only)
- Fecal lab examination is done with our vet at 8 weeks
- We microchip each puppy around 7-8 weeks.
- We trim puppy nails weekly starting around 3 weeks old.
- We do 1-2 baths during the first 8 weeks. Minimizing baths allows puppies to retain their natural oils in their skin and fur.
- We utilize a puppy probiotic in meals to aid healthy gut flora
- Core mandated vaccines (Da2PP and Bordetella), fecal exam, deworming, physical exam and health certificate with our vet at 8 weeks old
- Then we breath easy knowing everyone is ready to go!
As you can see we take the health of the puppy very seriously. Worms/coccidia/giardia is a normal process with puppy raising and we always treat prophalactically even with the absence of symptoms. All of our puppies have a negative fecal prior to pick up with out vet.
We do not cover any issues regarding worms/coccidia/giardia after pick up per state law.

Will my puppy be spayed at pick up?
Your puppy is not sterilized by pick up. Sterilization is the responsibility of the buyer. We ask that you wait until your puppy is over 12 months before scheduling a spay/neuter. We expect that all of our puppy owners will protect their pets from accidental or intentional pregnancy, as we do not release our pups with breeding rights.
.
.
What type health screening do you do with your breeding dogs?
All of our breeding dogs are screened for genetic conditions via 3rd party laboratory. In addition to the public records, you can find the genetic testing results of each dog in their personal BIO page. We do white out private identifying information for security reasons.
.
We use Pawprint Genetics, Canine Health Check, Embark, Animal Genetics and Gensol for our genetic testing. All of these companies meet the gold standards for canine laboratory testing in the breeding industry.
.
Orthopedic Foundation of Animals
We do OFA and Penn Hip evaluations on our breeding dogs. Although OFA recommendations are helpful for breeders it DOES NOT GUARENTEE an offspring will be exempt from this health condition. We are working through our OFA evaluations but COVID-19 limited our options. Our goal is to have all active breeding dogs over the age of 2 screened for OFA ortho/eye. You can find our results on the public data base AND on each parent's bio page.
.
GENETIC HEALTH GUARENTEE
We PROUDLY stand behind the health of our dogs. Every puppy has a genetic health guarantee up to 12 months old.
Please refer to the purchase agreement to see the specifics on our guarantee.
