Guardian Home Dogs
(thank you Lana's family for giving us permission to use your picture with your guardian home dog and her babies)
We pride ourselves in breeding amazing personalities to produce the happiest puppies. By offering a guardian home option it enables a high quality puppy/dog to be raised in a family environment while still being retained as a breeding dog. It is a win-win for both parties. After the dog complete their contract he/she will "retire" with their guardian home.
Guardian home is a term for someone who agrees to take one of our pups or adult dogs on a co-ownership type basis with the understanding that we will do continued breeding and / or show/competition with them. We firmly believe that dogs should live in a family environment and not a commercial kennel setting.
We provide vetting stipend yearly. We cover the costs for dog shows, Good Canine Citizen evaluations, trick/agility/competition events, and more! We offer full breeder support and you will have a community to share this adventure with.
We are very selective of where our dogs go as they are very special to us.

Here are some common FAQ from prospective Guardian Homes
.
Q - How far do I have to live from you?
A - Girl Guardian Homes must be within a 6 hour drive. Boy Guardian Homes within 2 hour drive. There may be exceptions to this. The Guardian Home is responsible for transport for their Guardian Dog so the closer the better
.
Q - Is there a cost for being a Guardian Home?
A - There is a small admin fee (subject to change) once you are ready to commit. If it has been more than one month since your application and you have not committed, please submit another application.
.
Q - When you do breed the female for the first time?
A - In most cases it is around age 2 or the 3rd heat cycle, and after temperament evaluations, our final breeding evals and titles are complete.
.
Q - When do males start breeding?
A - After 12 months with preliminary testing, confirmation events, and temperment evaluations are complete. On average we start boys around 18 months
.
Q - What happens when the dog is done breeding?
A - The goal is to have the dog retire with your family. All dogs are under contract so eligibility must be met for retirement. There is NO ADDITIONAL FEE to have a dog retire with your family as long as eligibility has been met.
.
Q - What happens if I become a Guardian Home and then I have change of heart? Can I buy the dog off of you?
A - NO and please take this very seriously as a commitment to us. We do not have a "buy out" option at this time. If you have a change of heart or circumstances, we require a 45 day notice on when you will be returning the dog to us permanently. These dogs are part of the team and under contract.
.
Q- What happens if the dog does not meet your expectations/gold standards as a breeding prospect?
A - We reserve the right to release a dog form the prospect of breeding without explanation and require a spay/neuter. The Guardian Home always has first right to accept the dog as a sterilized pet in this case.
.
Q - Do you have a list of Guardian Homes that we can talk to about the program?
A - Yes - we have MANY Guardian Homes that would be happy to share their experience
.
Q - Can I request a particular dog color or size?
A - Yes we often accommodate Guardian Homes preference. Temperament, health and quality will prioritize the aesthetics of a dog. Ultimately the dog we pick for you is our responsibility but we really do try to match you for your dream dog. Some Guardian Homes wait 6+ months to be matched.
